Make Your Own Winter Yarn Wreath
Today I'm going to share the winter wreath I made! I got the idea from Two Junk Chix here, and like them I knew I wanted to have a wreath up for winter, but was at a loss for what it was that I was looking for.
Supplies:
- Straw Wreath
- Different sized styrofoam balls
- Twine
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Ornament Baubles
- Burlap
- Pinecones
I went with the straw wreath because it was the cheapest option available and I knew it wouldn't matter since I would be covering it up with burlap. I left the plastic on so I didn't make an unnecessary mess.
After I wrapped my wreath it was time to start wrapping all of the styrofoam balls. Lucky for me Cassie and I were in Broken Bow, OK on a rainy day and we were able to get the job done in an afternoon. We wrapped at least 20 styrofoam balls in varying shades of white and gray and twine.
After all of the balls were wrapped I started hot gluing them to the wreath. I made sure that two of the same color balls were not glued next to each other at any point. After gluing on all of my yarn balls I added the silver glitter baubles, then I added the pinecones we had gathered on our trip.
And Voila! Here is my yarn wreath on my front door. I found an 'M' ornament for my last name on clearance at Michael's and added it for the finishing touch.
