Champagne Bottle turned Pineapple

{Texas Craft House} Champagne bottle pineapple. You could use any gold chocolates to cover a champagne bottle or wine bottle.
This craft is a champagne bottle disguised as a pineapple. Elisabeth loves pineapples and I wanted to honor her with a cute and simple craft for her birthday. I think this would make an adorable hostess gift, house warming gift, or gift for any occasion. I found the idea on pinterest one day after searching through some popular craft pins. I found a great website called handimania.com which has all kinds of crafty tutorials. I followed the champagne pineapple steps from this post.

Here's what you'll need:
  • Champagne (you could use wine bottles, soda bottles, water bottles, really anything with this similar shape)
  • Yellow gift wrap tissue
  • Green construction paper (or green tissue)
  • Twine
  • Gold wrapped chocolate {I used Hershey's because they were on sale and I liked that they had a rectangle shape}
  • Hot Glue Gun (This one is my favorite, it's cordless!)

Lay out your yellow tissue, keeping it all together. Lay your chocolate on the corner and cut out a shape a little wider than the chocolate.

This process goes by a lot quicker than it looks. I tried to keep the chocolates in a neat line but that proved a little more difficult as the top of the bottle got smaller and smaller. The tissue really helps to take up space if you need to spread some chocolate out. For the top of the pineapple I used green construction paper (I think green tissue would work great too). Just cut out the top so it is all pointy and jagged just like the leaves on a pineapple.

Then glue one edge and attach it to the champagne bottle and wrap it around.

Here is what it looks like. I decided to add another layer of green just to make it look even more "wild" on top.

Play with the leaves by curling the tips down and spreading them out. I also added twine around the top to cover up the separation between chocolate and paper.

I love how it turned out. I will definitely be making this craft again. You could play around with other gold wrapped chocolates and other bottle shapes and sizes.
