Flower Rosette Tutorial for Tulle, Fabric, Burlap and Ribbon

Last week I showed you a "How to Make the Perfect Bow." I figured out the secret trick by going to my local craft store, finding a pre-made bow and inspecting the craftsmanship. That same day I found some flower rosettes for sale... 3/$8.99. The lady shopping next to me looked at me funny when I started to gasp, take a picture and frantically text Elisabeth. $9 for a rosette was CRAZY! They are so easy and cost virtually nothing.

I used tulle, fabric, ribbon and burlap for my rosette tutorial.  No matter what type of material you use the process is all the same. Simply cut a long strip (the longer the strip the larger the flower), tie a knot at the end, use hot glue to move the material in a circle around the knot twisting as you go. When you get to the end of your material simply glue the end piece to the back of the flower. Add a pearl bead (or rhinestone or anything) to the middle and you're done.

I've used this charming little rosette before in previous blog posts including the No-Sew Tutu and the Good Luck Horsehoe. There are all kinds of crafts floating around pinterest that you might need these flowers for. No need to go buy them when you can make them on your own and save some money in the process. While working on the rosettes I took a picture of my glue gun stand and storage box... an old cigar box that Elisabeth and I picked up for $1 at a local smoke shop. We knew we'd need these boxes for SOMETHING and it's been perfect for my glue gun. If the glue drips it doesn't ruin the table. It sits on the edge of the box securely and everything is together when I need it.
