House Warming Bucket Gift
My sister in law and her husband built a home out in the country in Paradise... no, that's what their town is called... Paradise. We went to see their new house last night and it is gorgeous... lots of land, trees, and a brand new custom home. I surprised her with a house warming gift - a Home Depot bucket filled with all kinds of new home goodies.
I spent some time going through Home Depot... literally went up and down every aisle and just started grabbing anything that I thought would come in handy for the new homeowners. My sister in law had owned a home before so I new she didn't need the typical things like appliances or decorations. I wanted to get them things that they could put away and one day might randomly need. Here is a picture of everything I found...
- A "Homer" bucket and lid
- Garden hose
- Command strip hooks
- Anchor/screw kit
- Magic erasers
- Wall patch kit
- Paint brush cover
- Picture hanging kit
- Carpet spot/stain remover
- Plug in refills
- Plug ins
- Lighter
- Mega cuff (it holds extension cords/hoses)
- Wasp/hornet spray
- Goo gone
- Key labels
- Velcro
- JB weld
- Power strip
I put the lid on the bottom to hold everything up and then the hose on top of that and lastly the bucket. Then I filled the bucket with all the different items.
- Faucet covers
- House plant
- WD40
- Gorilla glue
- Hand soap
- Dish towels
- Champagne
- Duct tape
- Batteries
Don't forget to grab a paint chip for the simple card/tag on the front! I found the cellophane wrap at Michael's in the gift wrap section.
What other items would you put in the house warming bucket?
