My sister’s birthday was coming up, and I knew that there was nothing more she loved than chocolate! So I copied a cake I had seen on Pintrest. I just winged the cake on my own, so if you actually look on Pintrest you may find other directions- but mine turned out better than I expected- so I included my trusty steps!

Parmesan Cheese Chips
Last week I tried some parmesan cheese “chips” from my local grocery store. They were salty and had just enough crunch to get me through my afternoon snack craving. I used them again the next day to go with a big bowl of warm homemade tomato soup (instead of using crackers) which was delicious together. This week, instead of paying upward of $5-$6 for a small package of 12 parmesan chips. I grabbed my own block of cheese, turned on the oven and set out to make my own.
Making Canne Rosso’s Famous Mascarpone Dessert at Home
We love going to Canne Rosso in Dallas for their authentic wood-fired pizzas! Their pizzas are made with fresh in-house dough using “OO” flour. To make things better, their oven sits at about 900 degrees, making the wait for your pizza only a couple of minutes since they cook in about 90 seconds. You cannot go to Canne Rosso without ordering their famous dessert the “Pinche Julio.” This dessert is not on the menu so you’ll have to remember it’s name to order it. Recently, my husband and I were experimenting with recreating this dessert because we loved it so much.
Red White and Blue Strawberries
Since it is Labor Day weekend, I wanted to share this fun, easy, and inexpensive treat you can make for any patriotic holiday!
Super Simple Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzel Bites
So we had a contest at work yesterday to see who could make the best dessert… The managers competed against each other and the team voted on what they liked best. Spoiler Alert: I won!! Since there were so many people trying the food, the dessert needed to be bite size, grabbable, and room temperature. So this was my submission- Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzel Bites!
Stuffed Mini Sweet Peppers
My husband and I love to cook. I’m obsessed with food and trying new foods, ingredients and recipes. A couple weeks ago one of my coworkers, Amy, was sharing one of her favorite go-to recipes… stuffed mini sweet peppers. She let me try a sample and I was immediately hooked. I can’t wait to share the recipe with you today. It’s quick and easy… and healthy too!
Red, White, and Blue Trifle
Hi!!
I wanted to share my favorite dessert for the summer and of course Memorial Day and Fourth of July! It’s become my signature dessert 🙂 I found the idea on Pinterest and the recipe is from skinnytaste.com. It’s so delicious and no one is the wiser that it’s fat free! I’m really growing fond of trifle bowl desserts because it is so easy to layer in the ingredients and go!
Healthier Reduced Fat Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Last year I was given a box of homemade oatmeal raisin cookies as a gift. These cookies were the softest, sweetest and most flavorful than any kind I had every had. When I was told that they were healthier and reduced fat I was completely shocked. She shared the recipe with me and I’ve been using it to make these delicious cookies for gifts, luncheons and my go-to dessert treat ever since. I can’t wait to share this recipe today.
Oven Baked Spinach Chips
My fridge is always stocked with fruits and vegetables… spinach is on my grocery list every week. I usually go through at least 2 – 10oz bags a week, just me! I use it for salads, smoothies, sandwiches, and now these yummy little chips I just discovered! Let me tell you, these things are so addictive.
