Home Sweet Home Vinyl Window Sign

I am so excited to show off my new toy, the Silhouette Cameo. My family chipped in together to give it to me for Christmas. This machine is AMAZING. They found it on the Silhouette website on Black Friday and the bundle came with a starter tool kit, 1 month of free designs, the vinyl starter kit and Silhouette Mint (that post is coming!). I found the sketch pens at Hobby Lobby and bought them with my 40% off coupon but am excited to learn how to use other pen brands (such as Sharpie) with the different pen holders I also found.

Laundry Room Makeover: Washer and Dryer Storage

My laundry room is getting closer and closer to exactly how I want it to look! When we were building the house, the builder insisted on installing the washer and dryer outlets at pedestal height even though I didn’t have a washer and dryer with pedestals. Well I hated it! Lesson learned don’t let someone talk you into something you don’t need or want. I enlisted my husband and dad’s help to make a shelving unit and mantel piece that would cover up the unsightly outlets.

Happy New Year!

As the New Year is beginning, Elisabeth and I have been reflecting on our first year as Texas Craft House. It’s almost hard to believe that 5 years ago we started our journey as a humble little blog at, Connoisseur of Creativity.  Then last year (New Year’s Eve to be exact!), we decided to give ourselves a little makeover and move our “operation” to a website, updated with easier to access pages and a whole new look and name – and WOW what a year it has been!

How to Make Your Own Felt Christmas Stockings

Texas Craft House

Hi Everyone!

It is Christmas in July, right? I wanted to share these stockings I made a couple of years ago for my hubby, myself and our cats – and now that we have two new Scottie puppies I want them to have stockings as well! I went ahead and took step by step photos this time so that anyone else can make their own stockings too. I loved the elf stocking shape and could not find stockings in the store that I liked or where reasonably priced so I decided ‘Why not try to make my own?’

Parmesan Cheese Chips

Last week I tried some parmesan cheese “chips” from my local grocery store. They were salty and had just enough crunch to get me through my afternoon snack craving. I used them again the next day to go with a big bowl of warm homemade tomato soup (instead of using crackers) which was delicious together. This week, instead of paying upward of $5-$6 for a small package of 12 parmesan chips. I grabbed my own block of cheese, turned on the oven and set out to make my own.
