DIY Monster Dress-Up Shirt

Our school is celebrating Red Ribbon Week with a different dress up for each day. Today was monster day. My friends (my kindergarten team) and I needed a quick and easy costume that wouldn’t break the bank. Here are our monster shirts and the kids LOVED them!

Easy DIY Christmas Ornament Wreath

This is BY FAR the easiest way to make an ornament wreath. I tried making one earlier in the week with glass ornaments and hot glue and let me just say… that was a big, giant nightmare. Make it easy on yourself and stick to the plastic ornaments and don’t even look at the glue. I used about 70 ornaments to make this wreath. I have about 30 of the smallest ornaments left in my package and I’m thinking about making another with just the small ones.

Making Canne Rosso’s Famous Mascarpone Dessert at Home

We love going to Canne Rosso in Dallas for their authentic wood-fired pizzas! Their pizzas are made with fresh in-house dough using “OO” flour. To make things better, their oven sits at about 900 degrees, making the wait for your pizza only a couple of minutes since they cook in about 90 seconds. You cannot go to Canne Rosso without ordering their famous dessert the “Pinche Julio.” This dessert is not on the menu so you’ll have to remember it’s name to order it. Recently, my husband and I were experimenting with recreating this dessert because we loved it so much.

No-Sew Tutu

Texas Craft House

Today’s craft was so much fun! I went to my sister in law’s baby shower this weekend and she absolutely loved my wooden stackable cross that I made earlier this month. I loved seeing all of her other gifts. Right away I noticed a tutu that was gifted to her and investigated. 🙂 I realized it was made out of a simple headband, tulle, and there was absolutely no sewing involved. This shocked me because tutus can be so expensive! Well not anymore! My tutu craft cost LESS than $5.00! It would make the perfect gift for any little girl in your life. 🙂

Mickey Mouse Fishing Cooler

With summer quickly coming to an end, I wanted to share the cooler I made for my Aunt at the beginning of the summer! There are three things my Aunt loves; Mickey Mouse, fishing, and beer!

One thing my Aunt Lori and I enjoy doing together is fishing. She has a large piece of property with a lake and two ponds full of fish. One day we were getting ready to go fishing, and I watched my Aunt make multiple trips from the house to the pond we were going to fish. She had to go get her pole and tackle, then get her cooler for beer, then a chair off the porch. I began thinking there had to be an easier way for her to get fishing! She shouldn’t have to work so hard to relax!!

Yarn Wrapped Letter Monogram

Elisabeth and I are busy getting ready for our first craft booth next weekend. We’ll have some really great posts coming up about our booth design and booth crafts for displays. We are having a lot of fun but are quickly learning the amount of time and work it takes to have a craft booth.

Today’s craft is an oldie but a goody. It’s a monogram wreath or display that has been wrapped in yarn. I think this would love great with sayings like “home” or “love” or initials in a nursery or on a mantel. So many great ideas!

Scrap Burlap Monogram Wreath

So, if you follow this blog regularly, you can see that we love our wreaths!! Elisabeth, Cassie and I have wreaths for every season/holiday. Weeks ago, I joked with Elisabeth because I have made a wreath for everything imaginable and now I don’t have any more occasions to create a new wreath! Lucky for me, Elisabeth and I were out with my best friend, Jill, and we were talking about the Americana Wreath we had made and Jill made a comment that she wanted a wreath like that. She said she loves seeing all the nice wreaths in her neighborhood and wanted her own. Her birthday was only a month a way, so I now knew what I was going to get her!

Wedding Date Sign

This weekend my sister and I went to the antique mall to look around. We passed by some fun looking wooden painted numbers that I instantly thought would be great to have in the master bedroom to signify an anniversary date. I dug through the tub and couldn’t find all numbers that I needed. Then the idea came to me to try and make my own numbers so we stopped at Michaels on the way home and grabbed everything I needed.
