Travis’ Golden Birthday

Now that I know what Golden Birthdays are I couldn’t resist throwing one for my hubby. He’s less decisive than I am, so planning this shindig was literally only a couple of days before the get together took place. Travis decided that he wanted to go on a Cowtown Cycle in Fort Worth for his birthday and can I say it was a BLAST even if my butt was sore for a few days afterward.

How to Make Your Own Marquee Signs

Today I’m finally sharing the marquee ’28’ signs that I made for my Golden Birthday Party! I used the marquee to complete my photo booth area. To my surprise this project was actually very easy and just a little time consuming. I got the idea from Chloe Moore Photography and the pictures from Oh Happy Day helped me the most! I really love how the entire area came together especially with the fun photo booth props!

Zachary’s Prehistoric First Birthday Gift – Radio Flyer with Custom Decals

It’s my favorite little guy’s 1st birthday and I cannot believe it’s already been a year since he was born! Zachary is my close friend, Kristi’s, son! When Zach was born I worked long and hard on a stuffed Hobbes for him since that’s his dad’s favorite comic. Wanting to stick with that theme, I decided that we would get Zach a Radio Flyer for his 1st birthday, which I bought on Amazon along with the awesome book, Friday My Radio Flyer Flew, by Zachary Pullen!! I envisioned Calvin and Hobbes decals all around the wagon, unfortunately I did not have a device that would let me upload my own images…so on to the next idea! Zach’s 1st birthday theme is dinosaurs so I knew that I could put dinosaurs all around the wagon.

E’s Golden Birthday Party

A little something about my husband and me, is that we love to have parties with our closest friends. We especially love a good themed party! I turned 28 on the 28th, making it my ‘Golden Birthday’. To be completely honest, before last year I had never heard of a Golden Birthday and as soon as I learned about it I knew I had to throw a Golden Party. I asked my guests to wear anything with gold on it, and the turn out was fantastic. I wanted to share a couple of pictures from the party decor, food, and the photo booth I made, instructions on how to coming soon!

No-Sew Tutu

Today’s craft was so much fun! I went to my sister in law’s baby shower this weekend and she absolutely loved my wooden stackable cross that I made earlier this month. I loved seeing all of her other gifts. Right away I noticed a tutu that was gifted to her and investigated. 🙂 I realized it was made out of a simple headband, tulle, and there was absolutely no sewing involved. This shocked me because tutus can be so expensive! Well not anymore! My tutu craft cost LESS than $5.00! It would make the perfect gift for any little girl in your life. 🙂

Man Bouquet

Hello!

My husband is working late tonight and has been all week. I feel like I have hardly seen him! 😦 I wanted to do something special for him because he had been working so hard. I saw an idea on Pinterest about using tiny liquor bottles to tape onto skewers and placing into a basket. It’s called, “The Man’s Bouquet.” Instead of flowers or roses, they get all of their favorite things. The best part about this gift is that you can personalize it to fit your husband’s, dad’s, brother’s, friend’s favorite things.

{Texas Craft House} Man Bouquet Tutorial: What a great idea for your husband, fiance, boyfriend, dad, friend, father! Blog has great ideas for fillers for this giftBelow is a picture of my materials. I bought a normal flower-pot (which my husband doesn’t know yet but I will be taking back to put flowers in later, I just didn’t want to get something we’d throw away after this). I also got: peanuts, grass filler, a foam disk, wooden skewers, variety of liquor bottles (small), a 5 hour energy shot, gum, beef jerky, chap stick (my husband is obsessed), and scratch offs. I also have a picture of scrapbook paper and camo-eggs in the picture but I ended up not using them. I thought it would be cute to put sweet notes or handwritten ‘coupons’ inside the eggs for him to open, but after putting this craft together there was no room for them.
