Home is Where the Anchor Drops Mat and Wreath

So a couple of weeks ago, I was out shopping with Elisabeth at Hobby Lobby for a Valentine’s Day wreath she had in mind. I didn’t need anything,` was just browsing. We were looking at ribbons, and I saw this anchor ribbon, that I knew I absolutely needed, and I needed to make a wreath out of it! Sometimes inspiration hits just that quick! I happened to find the wooden anchor at Hobby Lobby too, and of course they had the wire form wreaths too.

Wood Block Conversation Hearts

I was wanting to find some fun home decor crafts in honor of Valentine’s Day. When I started searching through Pinterest I couldn’t find anything that I really liked. Everything seemed to look like child crafts or even a bit cheese-y. There were many wreath choices but I was wanting something for home decor. After some thinking I had the idea to paint wood blocks to resemble conversation hearts. The result turned out great!

Puff Paint on Canvas

Happy Sunday! Today I am sharing a craft I did for Elisabeth over 3 years ago. It was one of the first blog posts I did on the old blog (now it’s one of the most popular searches on Pinterest for puff paint on canvas!).  Wait until you see how easy it is to add handwriting to a canvas. It’s a fun and easy craft and you could really play around with the idea to come up with some fun projects.

Paint Brush Holder Tutorial

My mom recently made some life changes to pursue her dream of becoming a professional artist. This past weekend she participated in her first art show – out of 400 applicants she was 1 of the 60 chosen to be show cased. It was so much fun to see her beaming while listening to the comments from the judges and potential buyers. I am so proud of  her and all that she has accomplished already that I wanted to make her something special. After visiting her the other day I noticed her paint brushes were sprawled out on the table without their own spot. That’s when I decided she needed a paint brush holder. My husband helped me find the right tools to make it myself and I can’t wait to share the tutorial with you.
